April’s Family-friendly Event (is now in May due to the cool

spring)

F.U.N Event (Future Unfolds Now)

Camping with Kids—the human and the goat kinds!

When and Where

Date: May 13th, 14th, and 15th, 2022

Time: There are many time slots. Please sign up HERE

Location: Peace Lutheran Church (20 Northdale Blvd. Coon Rapids, MN 55448).

Event Description: Goats are amazing because they eat the most undesirable and noxious weeds imaginable!  As a result, we are working with Peace Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids to rid their Peace Community Garden of annoying and illegal weeds such as the painfully abundant sand burs and potentially toxic leafy spurge. Instead of spraying chemicals that may or may not even work to combat these horrible weeds, we are bringing in the goats to munch these weeds down.

Schedule

Sign up for a shift HERE. If all of the shifts are full, feel free to come anyhow! The shifts are kind of the minimum number of people desired. The more the merrier!

Event Details

What to bring. Bring whatever you need to keep yourself comfortable during your shift, a book, a chair, a friend, a snack…You can even just sit in your car in the parking lot. If you are camping, bring your own tent, sleeping bag, etc.

Goat babysitting details. This might be the easiest job you’ll ever have. Really your only job is to keep the public out of the fenced in area. If anyone hops the fence and you don’t feel comfortable approaching them, call the police (911). The goat owner has notified the Coon Rapids police that his goats will be there so they won’t think your crazy for calling on behalf of the goats.

When you arrive for your shift, call or text the coordinator.

651-485-5171.
