Art-A-Whirl Filled Our Hearts (and Puppet Stages!)
We had an absolute blast participating in Art-A-Whirl this year! Over one incredible weekend, our puppeteers performed at four different venues, sharing laughter, music, storytelling, and climate solutions with families from across the Twin Cities. From glittery disco cowboys in Funkadelic Fossil Fuel Fandango, to buzzing native pollinators in Mason Meets a Mason Bee, to everyone’s favorite tree advocate in The Lorax, audiences of all ages joined us for stories that entertain while inspiring action.
Our Green Light Puppets program is built on a simple idea: stories are one of humanity’s greatest superpowers. They help us imagine a better future, build empathy, strengthen community, and discover that environmental challenges are best solved together.
Rather than focusing on fear, our shows celebrate joy, creativity, kindness, and practical actions people can take to protect our food, water, air, and each other.
A huge thank you to our friends at NEMAA for organizing such a fantastic event. Art-A-Whirl reminds us what happens when artists, neighbors, and community organizations come together—we create something bigger than ourselves.
And here’s some exciting news: we’re making many of our puppet scripts freely available so educators, libraries, community groups, and families can bring these stories to even more people. Because great stories don’t just entertain—they create ripples of hope that spread far beyond the stage.
